100% of EL7 machines have been successfully upgraded to EL8!

EOL for CloudLinux 8 is the 31st of May 2029.

Ahead of the upgrades, explicit additional backups are being generated and transferred off-machine.

Once completed, per-server, the major upgrades will go ahead tonight, tomorrow, etc.

G’day,

We will be upgrading Operating Systems which are still on CloudLinux v7 to v8.
This will allow those machines to upgrade from cPanel+WHM v110 to the latest.

Most of our client machines are already on v8 - this impact is only for v7 machines.

As for DNS/Nameservers, please note that we completed those 7-to-8 upgrades in 2023.
(Our feedback from those works led to bug fixes in the ELevate tooling, which is now stable)

ELevate for cPanel has been stable since April 2024, hence we’ve given it another 3 months to smooth out.

There will be a raft of pre-flight checks performed before we go-ahead with the upgrades on any machine.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our crew. Most clients do not have any machines on CL v7.
