Hypervisors: Sub-major Upgrades (Debian v13.5, QEMU v11 & Kernel v7)

Maintenance Planned

G’day,

Following successful testing, we’ll be performing sub-major upgrades to all production hypervisors. If assistance is required, we have smart-hands on-site 24/7/365 who can assist should OOB be insufficient to recover.

A single node at a time: guests will be powered off softly, the node upgraded to the new major versions & rebooted, and then only once testing is successful guests will be started up gradually & returned to service.

Bundled in with many nice changes is the formal introduction of Rust into the Linux Kernel. It has been there for a while with the experimental tag which has been removed as of v7, showing its weight alongside C.

Please let us know if you’ve any queries or concerns about these works.

Cheers,
