Backup Storage: Overhaul from HDD to SSD-backed RAID
All servers now have a baseline of 1x Full Backup. The bug has been resolved for the 1x VM.

Full Backups are now running on every server, except for 1x VM which has a JetBackup bug.
We will close out this issue once all servers have successfully transported their Full Backups.
The backup system has been reinstalled and the new array has been created on the SAS SSDs.
We will complete re-configuration and backup re-generation this weekend.

The HDD-based array has been destroyed, and we are building the SSD-based array at the moment.
Please do not make any changes where you may require a backup, until further notice, if you can avoid it.

We’ll be overhauling our Sydney primary backup system’s storage (disks-only, not the system itself) from spinning HDDs to flash SSDs to improve performance - especially at peak times.
To do this, firstly we’ll take full backups of every account on every server and stow them away from the backup storage in question. From there, we’ll commence the re-build of the backup storage: destruction of the current zRAID array, removal of the SATA HDDs and caching SSDs, installation of the new SAS SSDs, building of new zRAID SSD-backed array & integration into the storage management system.
From there, we’ll manually instigate full backups on every client server to the backup storage, to get a fresh baseline down. It will then regenerate further as time goes on, and we’ll re-establish off-site syncing to the DR Site. Thanks for your patience as we improve your backup experience further!
